COLOR GUARD AUDITION INFORMATION

Color guard auditions are set-up in a one day clinic format where participants will learn parts of the SMBCG technique book, as well as a routine. We strive to have a welcoming, open, and honest approach to teaching and learning, trying our best to look at both current ability and future potential.

Register for an audition

All interested individuals should first register for an audition using the link below if they have not already. This will add you to our information mailing list which will provide audition updates, reminders, and allow you to stay connected with the SMB!

One-day clinic

The SMB Color Guard will host a one-day clinic that takes place from 9am-5pm. The date will be sent out to those registered for an audition.

Evaluation

We will be evaluating the following for all potential members:

  • Work Ethic

  • Response to Constructive Feedback

  • Posture & Performance

  • Hand Placement/Free Arms

  • Technique & Execution

  • Awareness of Flag Angles/Relationship Between Flag and Body

  • Lower Body Placement/Awareness

  • Timing & Fulfillment of Technique and Choreography
